My love for horses started when I was about 3 years old. We lived next to a main bridleway that entered our local woods and I used to sit by the window and wait for the horses to ride past. Even now I remember the clip-clop of the horse’s shoes on the road as they walked past. Eventually my parents gave in and let me and me start horse riding. Just before my 10th birthday, I told them I would like Truelove, the pony I used to ride weekly at my local riding school. The day of my 10th Birthday I woke up there was a strong leather smell, I ran downstairs and there was all my new tack ready for my new pony.
Truelove stayed with me, living as a free range pony around our house till her last breath. My Truelove is always in my heart and I think about her everyday.
After Truelove went over Rainbow Bridge I totally lost my love for horses. That is, until my 7 year old daughter said those words: “Mummy can I go horse riding”. At that moment my heart said yes and my brain said WOW this is going to be expensive.
We now have 5 horses living at home with us and I can truly say my love for horses has definitely come back.
These days I leave the riding to my daughter, she competes at BD, currently PSG level and looking to move up to inter 1 later this year. I am just the groom and camerawoman. But I’m happy with that.
The Equine Shed was established in early 2021. I started with selling just a few rugs, and it has grown from there, with our ranges expanding on a daily basis. My aim is to cater to all your needs and requirements. From budget ranges to top of the line brands to pamper you and your horse, The Equine Shed should have it all.
